Ever felt frustration with AI, when AI just doesn’t “Get” it? Well, I did too, until I learnt and understood how to instruct (prompt) AI. ” Until I understood it’s all about the “The Prompt”.
In continuation of my posts on AI for small businesses, I’m sharing a PDF with ready-to-use prompt examples you can apply across sales, marketing, reporting, and more.
Most of us default to “Write the reply to the customer,” and then wonder why AI gives incomplete response. Prompts are simply instructions—just like you’d brief a team in detail if you want to get a task done properly.
So instead of “Write the reply to the customer in response to his email,” try something like:
“You are a Customer-support agent | Reply to billing inquiry | Inputs: invoice #456, customer says ‘I was charged twice’ | Output: 80-word empathetic reply with refund ETA.”
By thinking it through, providing clear instructions, and setting boundaries, you’ll get the responses you actually expect. The team has collated real examples we’ve used in the attached PDF—copy-paste them into ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or Co-Pilot and watch the magic happen.
Remember: clear instructions + solid constraints = better outcomes.
